I took my chickens outside and one of my chickens an easter egger just laid down as soon as I put her on the ground she will not even stand up. But as soon as I put her in the brooder she will move around again.

LOL. She's just being chicken.

There's a reason we call it that. Chickens are fearful creatures. She apparently is not impressed with the outside environment.

Slowly introducing her to the outdoors is one method, giving her more time to adjust.

Another method is to leave her out for a couple of hours and simply let her adjust. She'll get used to it and start moving around.

But...obviously watch her closely to make sure she is not exhibiting illness. If she is totally fine and normal in the brooder, but lays down outside only, then I'd say it is environment adjustment.

Ok it's just weird though because she won't try to follow the other chickens when she can't see them. She won't even stand up when she is scared. She lays down and acts like a statue as soon as she goes outside. She only will when she is in her brooder. That was why I was scared. Thank you for telling me.

As long as she is active and moving freely in the brooder, I would not immediately worry that she is sick.

IF she begins to be listless in the brooder, then you may consider treating for coccidiosis as that is generally the main cause of illness in young pullets.

Watch her. Hopefully she will overcome her fears, and it is just fears.
