My Chicken Problem

Today I just bought a year old Barred Rock hen and a 9 month old Rhode Island Red rooseter, and I just saw my hen attack my Rooster when my rooster just sat in a nest box. Why is this happening?

It's the pecking order playing out. Hang on for a tough lesson in pecking order, it can be tough to watch, but it will straighten out eventually.
