My chicken screams, please help

Really beautiful birds but boy is that loud!

My welsummer and sapphire splash, which looks a lot like yours, do that too. I never thought anything about it. It’s quieter than the neighborhood kids

The screaming sounds like my chickens demanding their breakfast. Unfortunately laying or not makes no difference in mine making that screech.

Wow! Now THAT is impressive! Our neighbors, who have accused us of "you're going to have a smelly chicken coop", followed by "your chicken coop is going to block the sun from our cabana" followed by "You're breeding mosquitoes" followed by "you are breeding flies and we are infested" followed by "do you guys have roosters over there?" (we ate them right after that last one) would totally be after us with shotguns if our pullets made that much racket! Good luck! I feel for you on this one!

She will do that for hours sometimes. The other three are just as vocal. Thankfully my closest neighbor is about 350 yards away.

She is definitely preparing to start laying eggs. Some of my hens are like this, it's their personality. They are the same ones that loudly announce they have accomplished the miracle of laying an egg to the entire flock! All my chickens know their names and respond to their name. When I am home and a hen announces her miracle, I will congratulate her, and she stops announcing.
