If she is not hatching chicks, then you need to break her of being broody. Leaving her to sit and sit is dangerous to her health. To break a broody hen,put in a cage, dog crate, etc, with wire bottom you want air to circulate under her and cool off her breast, keep her in a place with light. Make sure she has food and water. The longer you leave a broody hen broody, the longer it will take to break her. Never leave them broody, unless they are hatching chicks. Also being broody is contagious, next thing ,all your chickens will be broody, and no more room to put them. lol ! Have fun. You can let her out after a few days,if she runs back to her nest, put her back in the broody box for a few more days. When she has stopped being broody, she will just go back to scratching and doing chicken stuff.I'm going through the same with my pullet. at first I thought she might be egg bound but thank God she is just broody. she had stopped laying completely and sits all puffed up on her nest. I've seen her eat about once a day thank God but she's on day 5
I hope she won't loose too much weight!
