My chicken started sleep a lot not eating or drinking.

I have a 2 year old hen. That is all fluffed up and eyes closed and will barely move. I did a health check on her. She looks good. I thought maybe she had a egg stuck, can't feel a egg Her poop look normal too.. Does anyone know what may be wrong. Thanks

could be coccidosis. cocci can still be present without bloody poo. if your certain she's not egg bound or laying internally the symptoms of coccidosis is very sleepy lethargic ruffled feathers and sometimes bloody poo but NOT always. if you agree it sounds like it could be cocci you can treat with corid or amproluim. they are the same and kill all 9 strains of cocci. yes even older birds can it coccidosis if they come across a strain they are not immune to.cocci is a protozoa present in all soil. there are 9strains of cocci and corid kills all 9. you can find it or amprolium at the feed store. hope this helps and best wishes. look up coccidosis and see if you agree symptoms match. keeping in mind bloody poo does NOT have to.be present to have cocci.if you have checked her over and she is not egg bound my guess is coccidosis. especially since you say she acts really sleepy. that's a key symptom there. take a look online and see if you agree.if so treat with corid or amproluim as soon as possible. because she's not drinking you will likely have to give the medicated water with a dropper to get her dose. do this carefully as not to aspirate her. careful not to get the water in her lungs. hope this helps. best wishes
