My chicken tractor turned into a coop.

It looks great!

I don't see anything wrong with using pallets or pallet wood. We use tons of pallet wood here all of the time. Pallet wood here has built a complete coop, helped with a coop, built two tree houses, a dog house, and we are currently building a small shed with the wood. Why pay for the wood when you can get it free?!?!

nice job! i am a printer/press operator. i have seen many of these pallets come in, then we just toss em on the pile for removal. the paper that comes on these is for web presses and or parent size sheets.

My wife has been using some totes to support a desk top, in those totes are my lights that I will need for the chicks. She asked me to grab her some pallets to take the place of the totes.

Nice guy that I am, and the fact I have to redesign the tractor, compelled me to offer her the pallets I was using. I figured I would just pick up some more today anyhow.

Long story short, my chicken coop is now a desk and we don't have any pallets at work.

Good thing I wanted to try something different anyhow.

Someone remind me why I wanted chickens again.

Our tractor came out heavier than expected, too, mostly b/c the husband kept over-engineering it as he went. One thing that might help-- we decided to keep the run as a separate unit: they sit side-by-side but when it's time to move the thing, we move one first, then the other. It's lighter and more manueverable that way.
