My chicken was stepped on by our horse or mule.

She might just be shocked, by what happened getting run over by a horse that is a lot bigger than you is scary so hopefully she is just in shock and will be on her feet in no time.šŸ˜€

It’s been a week. She is still hanging in there. I’m letting her out of the dog crate a couple of times a day. She will stand now and take a could of steps. I feel hopeful.

That sounds promising, and glad that she is doing better. Do you keep her crate near the other chickens so that she can remain part of the flock? That will make reintegrating her much easier. Let us know how she is getting along.

Sorry haven’t been on in awhile. She is doing well it’s been over two weeks. She spends the day free ranging with the other 5 chickens. Funny thing is the last 4 nights when the others go to their coop she jumps into the dog kennel. She tries to keep up with them doesn’t go as far. I will find her and being her back to the flock. Through this whole thing not one of the others have been mean to her. Today on of the other girls laid and egg in the dog kennel. Weird. I think she’ll make it. Not sure she’ll lay eggs again. But she’ll always be part of this family.

I had a chicken that was stomped on by a cow and she broke her leg but I did fix if the best I could and she is still laying!!
