One of my hens is acting very strange. I know these past couple months the weather has been all over the place not knowing where to settle but only one chicken out of my, about 30 chickens isn't quite well. As I was going to to lock up my chickens for the night I found lil Betsy in the doorway of the coop , just sitting there and not knowing any better the other chickens and ducks just walked right on top of her i brang her inside and put her in a box kept her warm and gave her food and water. She hasn't walked but she is eating and drinking. She hasn't laid any eggs, most of my chickens haven't started laying yet either but she is always tired looking and every time I check on her she's sleeping , now she is only about 2 years old i don't know what's wrong.

Well, if you aren't getting many eggs then now is the perfect time to worm them and do a bug check. A heavy load of pests can be detrimental to overall health.

Check her general body condition while your at it, see if she feels like she's lost weight or if she feels swollen in her lower belly.

This could be internal/exteral parasites or she could be an internal layer or have some other disease going on.

I have noticed that she is extremly light. I will keep you updated what I find

If she is light you might want to check the other birds to see how they are doing ..

What kind of feed are you serving them or are they just free grazing ??

It is spring walk around and see if there are any new weeks growing ....

If she will eat try some hard boiled egg's remove shell mash up good and serve ...

My condolences always heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet.

For future reference, one of the first things to check for in hens is egg binding.
