my chickens against ordinance. any response appreciated.

Well, I didn't expect to get so much feedback. Thanks! I am looking for a new place in the country, but it seems harder then I thought it would be. I think I would need a roomy and that is very hard to find an appropriate roomy.

Well, I just went over there and talked to the guy. In the past he always said he had no problem with the chickens. Well, I told him I was looking for a place to move to and I was keeping everything really clean. I asked if that lady had said to call the police. He denied that but admitted that he talks to everyone that goes by and admitted he 'don't like chickens'. Well thats that.

SOOOOOOO, I did tell him I would be out of here by spring. I hope he gets a neighbor like the one he had before I moved in. A total junk yard!!! There was glass and piles of car parts and tires everywhere when I moved in.!!!!! The piles were about 5 feet tall too.!!!! And I heard they had pot growing on the land too. Sorry Im evil.

BUT, this guy thinks he is going to get the Avian Flu or something!

I might as well get rid of my chickens before I get into trouble. UGH!!! He is just ever vigilant. eyes eyes everywhere. I dont want to get rid of Fred and Coch though. Maybe they can live in the house.

She doesnt hardly ever lay eggs (Coch) and she is always into mischief but I love her.

I would fight to keep my chickens.

Does the town have meetings? Go to one and ask to see the town ordinances on chickens. My cousin had to do that because she wanted chickens and the town kept saying it was against the ordinances. When they got to see the ordinances they found that they were allowed to keep chickens as long as they were housed in a "proper coop" meaning a roof over the run so chickens couldn't fly out and she is only allowed one rooster, and only if it doesn't crow too loud.

So request to see copies of the ordinances. If there are provisions in there for chicken keeping, your neighbor will have to let it alone.
