My 7 year old daughter learned the hard way why we don't walk up to the chickens with a pet toad in our hand 
I also have a bad habit of putting kitchen scraps on paper plates, then I just kinda step outside and drop the plate...sometimes the plate is still there to pick up; sometimes it's not... Fiber, I guess.
They find pinkie mice to be the most delectable treat, though. To be honest, its kinda hard to watch a little poofy silkie devouring a mouse like a t-rex
