MY CHICKENS ARE GOING CRAZY!!

The only recent change Ive noted is one hen trying to brood the eggs before I collect them. I only have 1 rooster, 9 other hens. We had a pretty good size coop, and even added on a run. I live in central Vermont.

What does your run look like? Is it just a large opening with nothing in it? Add some pallets up on blocks so they can jump up on it. Add a couple of roosts, I just stuck a broken pitch fork handle in the corner, sticking it between the fence squares. It is a favorite perch of my birds. By adding some stuff to your run, birds can get away from each other, get some exercise, and are much happier. It looks more crowded, but gives more space and a littler separation.

I have several different perches, old fence posts sanded down and stuck in corners, like you said. I cut down a small, maybe five foot tall pine tree, and kept it in a corner with a perch, and they love(and I do mean, LOVE) that. There water dish is near this.
