This is my first hatch. I used the dry incubation method. I started the humidity at about 60% though and did not have to add water the entire time. I set 42 eggs. Lost 4 early quitters and 8 were infertile. I put 30 into lockdown on Saturday morning. They are due tomorrow so they are doing good.
It all started last night. There were two by the time I went to bedat 11:00. When I got up at 3:30, there were six. At 7:00 this morning, there were eight. Now there are thirteen!! I'm getting about one per hour.
I know several people will be upset but I took some of the chicks out of the incubator. I made sure the humidity was way up. It was at about 91% with all the hatching. I also made sure that the chicks I took out were dry. I opened up one window and reached in. Burnt my armin the process but it was worth it. I also took out the empty shells. The babies were just bulldozing the the unhatched eggs. and it was getting a little cramped in there. I took out 12 babies and ended up leaving only one. It ended up hatching as I was removing the others. I took a picture to share with everyone. They still have some stuff dried on them, but they are dry. I hope everyone thinks they are as cute as I do.
