My chickens are holding secret meetings....

My chickens have been acting strange lately.
They have been hanging out in the coop a lot the past two
days. When I sneak in to look through the window.. they
just all look at me. It's like I could hear them saying
"shhhh.. here she comes, act like chickens." They are usually on the floor, either
sitting in the shavings or just standing there. Maybe they
are wondering if Midnight is ever going to stop sitting on
dud eggs. Then I wonder, are they looking at the nest
boxes. They are 19 weeks old. As you can see, I made them another nest box out of an unused blue cat littler pan.
Someone did some scratching around in it today too... and not a cat.

I snuck in and took a picture today of one of the secret meetings.

I snuck in again later... and found Rusty in the nest box
and Pearl was watching him. Now I know what has been
going on. I believe that he has been coaching them on
laying eggs. They must be getting close. He's such a good rooster!

There is something going on. Rusty is also chasing the other rooster a lot too. Rose. Rose is outside if Rusty is inside.. and inside if Rusty is outside. Yesterday Rusty chased Rose into the coop when I was in there and Rose high tailed it to the driveway. I let him stay outside for a while away from the big mean Rusty.
