I bought some mealworms for my chickens (1 Silver Laced Wyandotte "10 weeks old", 2 Speckled Sussex "5 weeks old", 3 Easter Eggers "one 10 weeks old, two 5 weeks old", 2 Black Australorps "5 weeks old"), but they don't seem interested at all in them. Is that normal? Is there anything I need to know about giving them to the chickens?

Ours didn't like them until we crushed them up, but it is perfectly normal for your girls to not be attracted to certain treats. They can certainly be finicky about what they eat just the way humans are. You could always try other things, such as bread crumbs, pieces of pasta, or even let them pick an apple core clean (provided you remove the seeds; they contain arsenic). Our girls LOVE table scraps!

That is good to know. Since I moved all my chickens outside to the coop a couple weeks ago they have become extremely skittish around me and the kids and was trying to find something (some sort of treat maybe) to help them relax into there new environment better and go back to being really friendly like they were before I moved them outside. Thanks for the help!

my little ones that are about 13 weeks old do not like them but my chickens that are about 1 and a half years old go crazy for them but I use happy hen treats not manna pro.

Ours always became little skittish when we transitioned them to the coop, but once they started laying, they grew to be sociable and friendly to the max! Chickens usually calm down to some degree when they begin producing eggs. We just recently put our babies out, and right at the moment, they won't even let me touch them whereas they were the cuddliest birds we've ever had the privilege to raise prior to relocating them outside. At this point, I think it's probably normal for chickens to go through an aloof phase. Your girls may eventually be lovable again.
