my chickens have flat combs

I have 3 chickens, either black jersey giants or black australorps (feed store wasn't sure on their breed), and they have flat combs that are black. The hatchery they get their birds from (Ideal) don't have any birds that I can tell that match the birds I have that also have flat combs. I'm at a loss, they are healthy birds, growing at a normal pace with the barred rocks and wyandottes they were purchased with at the same ages. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

It’s hard to visualize what you mean by a flat comb.
How old are these birds?

They are 13 weeks old. They have less of a comb than the wyandottes do with the rose comb. where the comb should be is either flat or a small raised lobe of flesh but its completely smooth. Don't have any pics right now, but will get some tomorrow.

Is it possible they aren't either breed? Bin mix-ups occur all the time.

I believe you have Black Sumatras, hence the pea combs.
