My chickens have hard egg shells, do yours?

I think because they get a great diet. Kent xtra egg, their own eggshells, and scratch. it makes for a nice, protected package!

Mine are really tough to crack open too, Almost have to use a hammer lol

Mine are too but when I laid off the oyster shell for a few days they went back to normal. I now give them free choice of oyster shell but I only put the bowl in their coop three times a week.

That happened with my ladies too ~ I did the same thing ~ we only give it about 3 times a week ~ otherwise the shells are so dang hard that you have to pry them apart, & I invariably end up getting a bit in whatever I am cooking ~ in fact, it got so bad there for a while, that I started cracking them in a cup 1st! ;-D
