I have two pullet cream legbars who started laying in early September, usually one egg every other day. Neither has laid an egg for about a week now and I am concerned. Should I be?? They have had a few transitions that might be interrupting their laying cycle. i.e. switching food and coops and trying to integrate with two other chickens.

I also have a cinnamon queen who has diligently laid nearly every day, per what is expected of her breed. And then, Crumpet, the grumpy Rhode Island Red (RIR) who has been laying just fine for her breed given this time of year.

They all seem healthy and get a good amount of sunshine and free ranging. Should I be concerned that they haven't laid in about a week?

Also this time of year depending on where you are the shorter days. Do you turn A light on for them in the morning and in the evening. Do they look like they might molt? I adopted A red leghorn and she hasn't laid in A month everyone says that it is normal

Sounding like the switch in food, coops & integration is causing the interruption. If they're free ranging, have you searched for eggs? Due to the changes, they may have decided to lay elsewhere.
Are they molting?
This ^^^^^

May be too young to molt....knowing their age and location would help.

Thanks for your reply. I have looked everywhere outside where they free range - no eggs!! No, they are not molting. I had a chicken die last year from being egg bound (I think) and just want to make sure that it's not life threatening for them to not lay for awhile, especially given the changes in food, coop, etc. I am worried every day that I don't get an egg from them.

I live in Atlanta. My other two girls are laying as regular as ever.

Glad to hear that not laying in a month could be normal, especially given changes in coop, etc.
