i finally got my dad's homemade chicken coop brought over to my place and set up. Yesterday i spent part of the day pressure washing it and getting all the old bedding out of it. Today i put it all back together and now all i have to do is put something on top of the run so no birds get into my chickens and i will be able to move my girls and one boy over to the coop. here are some picture of my coop and my babies.

Not sure about 16-20 chickens but then again it's hard to tell how large it is. if you are thinking of getting more chickens, do the following. Grab a tape measure and do some calculations - minimum 4 sq ft floor space per chicken in the coop, and 10 in run. Since you live in a cold climate you may need to double that allowance in the coop, depending on how cold/snowy it gets and how often, as the chickens may choose to stay inside during bad weather.

Not sure what kind of predators you get in your area, but it's a really good idea to use either hardware cloth or welded wire, no wider than 1/2", and wrap the bottom few feet of the run and then apron it outwards or bury it, to deter digging predators and pests like rats.
