My chickens wander over to neighbors yard.

Personally, I would still try to keep my critters home. My neighbours place is no place for my animals on a regular basis. It goes hand in hand with the responsible pet ownership ideals I try to have. In my mind it doesn't matter if it's a chicken or a dog. My animals are my responsibility and I try to keep them home, where they belong.

What if one of your hens gets hurt while on an excursion? They eat something they should not because your neighbours have non-chicken friendly stuff hanging around? What if the chickens caused some damage to their garden (if they have one) or a little kid sits in chicken poop or gets it all over their hands? Yuck! I love my chickens, but chicken poo stinks!

Anyway, just something to think about. Responsible pet ownership in my opinion is keeping your animals at home to the best of your ability.
