They should like that. What do you have in it though as it looks like sand. My chickens wouldn't touch a huge pile of sand we have here, but much prefer plain old dirt. You can also add a little wood ash or diatomaceous earth to help keep mites/lice off them or in the dirt.
Yeah I can't tell you how many times I turned an ankle in that one, or nearly fell down because of it. And believe me, you don't want to fill up a hole like that with dirt, that just makes it more attractive, and the more they thrash around in it, the bigger the hole becomes! 
Some of mine have a favourite spot in a corner where there's a breeze block step just along one side, so they're effectively penned in on three sides. There's really only enough space for one chicken at a time if they want to dust bathe properly.My chickens actually dig themselves spots right IN THE GRASS. Preferably in the trail to the gate to the hen house. Their favorite spot for a while was not merely in the middle if the path, but right IN FRONT OF THE GATE!!!
