I recently raised up my 12 golden comet chick's with 4 ducklings. I bought everyone at the same time right before Easter and replaced my other flock.
I put everyone in the pen together and we have a beautiful coop. A coop that no one will use!
The girls will not go up the ramp into the coop. They want to nestle in with the ducks in a corner of the pen...All 12 chicks and the 4 ducks, cuddled up! it's cute, but a problem because then I have to physically chase everyone around and put them in the coop for protection.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Well, the Ducks can go down the ramp, they are sorta clumsy at it, but they come down it in the morning, It would seem like they would be able to go up to?
The ducks don't mind being in the coop....I put them in every night. It is the strangest thing. I raised everybody together, so we didn't have any fighting....now I have chickens that think they are ducks!

How long since they've been moved to the coop? It can take a couple weeks of you putting them in the coop for them to figure out oh we are suppose to be going inside at night.

My Pekins go into the coop every night with the chickens! They think they should roost as well. They climb up the ramp and "duck" to get in to be with everyone else. Its so cute!
