my chicks are dying, what am I doing wrong?

You said you turn off your light at night? What are you using to keep the brooder hot spot at 90°?

Hi subhanalah. Yes, I did turn off the light the first day and switched on a heater very close to the brooder. I never did that again though.
Speaking of the lamp; I had a hard night yesterday. Electricity went off all night time due to harsh weather conditions. I was so stressed out all night long. I covered the brooder with a blanket; leaving only some holes for ventilation. The 6 chicks were huddled together to keep each other warm

What do you suggest to use as a heating source if, God forbids, this happens again?

Do you have a propane heater of any type, I always try to keep one near by
