Cackle Hatchery order of 25 Buff Orpington Pullets, 25 Black Australorp Pullets, and 2 Black Australorp Cockerels. No losses in shipping, but a couple are a little weak. They did send a couple extras of each.

They had completely used up their yolks and were a bit thin, but started eating as soon as the box/brooder got up to temp. If they had stayed in that box another 6+ hours I have no doupt that quite a few would not have made it.

how sweet!

Congratulations, Matt- glad they all made it. It is really nip and tuck shipping in this weather! Is it snowing over there?

I'm glad they made it safely, and I hope the weak ones get their strength up! Now that everyone has some good food and heat, hopefully they'll thrive. Everybody sure looks healthy and happy (not to mention cute)!

All, but 1, are still going strong. That 1 is trying to dig at it's face like something is stuck in its mouth. I have check several times and there is nothing there. Its airway is completely clear and there is nothing stuck in its throat. It trys so hard that it rolls over onto its back. It manages to get up right again on its own each time. It has finally started eating and has a full crop. Not sure what is wrong with it or if it will grow out of it if it makes it. Never seen one do this.

Just down the road from you in Hickory. Have 25 BR pullets coming from Meyer in 2 weeks. Hoping the weather warms up a few degrees by then. When were yours shipped?
