Hey, I'm new. I got 6 red rocks on easter weekend who are now 4 weeks old, and very friendly with me. And then a week later I got 2 Amauracanas (now 3 weeks), 2 silkies (2 weeks), and 2 partridge rock (2 weeks). They, on the other hand, freak out and hide anytime anyone comes into the room. Mind you, I haven't given them as many treats as the older ones.

Mine always seem to go through a freaky phase starting at 10-12 days old and continuing for a couple months, I just keep hanging out with them, hand feeding, and eventually they settle down. Well, some breeds don't settle down as well, so it may depend on what you have.

I have 5 buffs, 5 new hamp reds, 2 silver laced wy. 3 Partridge Cochins and 2 bantys mis. breed

I have found that my hens are getting very friendly right after they begin laying eggs it is like night and day now they love to be held and petter they do think I am a rooster which is kindof wierd
