My chicks first night of roosting!! Yippee!

Proud "Chicken Mom" moment

My chicks are approx 4.5 weeks old and tonite is their first night sleeping on a roost in their dog crate brooder!! We are still finishing up their coop and hope to move everyone in early this week. A couple of weeks ago, to keep them entertained, I put 1x1 roosts at different levels in the crate.

I wrote on an earlier post about them not settling in at night lately...well now I think it was because they were wanting to go up on the roost to sleep, but couldn't get it together to do it...well tonite was a success for them!

....think I am becoming a "crazy chicken lady"!!

Good for them. We have 18 4 week olds that will get to do that tomorrow night. They are still trying to all sleep in a large tote with their mama and they are getting so big that they don't all fit.
