Your chicks are beautiful!!! Mine from Townline Hatchery in Zeeland, Michigan ship out on Monday. I dug my empty brooder out and will be setting up their coop over the weekend.

Here is a picture of my last chicks. They were around 3/4 weeks.

You know, I just realised that I ordered 3 EE's. lol I feel like such a dork. That would mean that the last three chick pics are all EE's. That would explane the green legs huh?

So far I can tell the EE's apart, and the Buff Orpingtons. Can anyone tell me if the mostly black chicks are the BR's or are they the SLW? lol

Then there is the danish Brown Leghorns, and he New Hampshire reds, they confuse me because they all look alike, I cant tell them apart at all.

Our chicks came from Ideal and they're an average of 164 grams (136 min, 195 max) at 22 days old. So far no pastey butts, no sick chicks, and a good growth rate. Ours arrived at Roach Seed and Feed (garland, TX) and we picked them up right after they arrived.

This is good to hear. So far these little guys sleep for 10 minutes then run around like crazy for another 10 minutes. They are so fun to watch, all have been eating and drinking really well. Very active, and boy are they talkers.

I dont think I am going to give my sister an EE, I think I just might keep all three. They are all so cute, but so far the EE's have really stood out above the rest. They are the first ones to come running to see me, they were the first ones to eat out of my hand even.

So cute, I love them all.

So I hope I did the right thing by cleaning off the four little fluffy butts that had pasty butt. I used warm water and a soft washcloth to clean off the hard poop. Was this the correct thing to do? I sure hope so. But I'm thinking four out of eighteen isnt bad.

Everyone is active, and jumping all over the place in the brooder. with them being only 4 days old, is it too soon to give them a low roost.
