Hello everyone! I am a new member. I am Vietnamese but I am very interested in your site. And more importantly, I want to ask your opinion.
Something is so, I have a new born chicks, unluckily, he only has one feet :( He can't stand and get in troble with move... I'm very sad about it. I can't help him. I have a crazy idea, that's prostheses for him but I think it's impossible. Could you help me? Thank for your listening :)
(I know my vocabulary is so bad, but i only want to help my chicks. Hope you understand... Thank you!)

Welcome to BYC. It is possible for a one legged chicken to survive, but for it to do so will require much work on your part. It will have to be separated from all but the most gentle chickens. It will eventually learn how to move about on one leg. Good luck with this chick.

You will most likely need to feed it and give it water at first. As it gets stronger, it might learn to hop with the help of the wings to get around.

People have posted 'one legged ' chicken photos so I know they can survive and be happy. The main thing is they need extra predator protections because they certainly can't defend themselves. Others in the flock may bully or try to kill him. He may do very well as a house pet.

I did a search and found one story I was thinking about - it is true and has a happy ending.

It's Called "Meet Drumstick, the one legged cockerel." He was a victim of a raccoon attack. The raccoon was able to reach in and pull his leg thru the fence and bit it off.

I've read "Meet Drumstick, the one legged cockerel". What a divine rooster, Drumstick! About my chicks, I think he's just a child so I let him close to his mom. Maybe I must keep him standing when I feed him.
Thank for your sharing. I'll always pray for him and try my best so as to help him survive
