my chicks have fleas!!!!!

I just hatched out some rir and br chicks and noticed they have fleas!!!!! They are a couple weaks old and are outside. I put de in the shavings so hopefully that got rid of the fleas.

i dont knos if this will work but get a bottle of flea bath dog shampoo, look at the back to see if you can use it on your chicks, then just get a tub of warm water pour some soap in it an jently rub them. make sure the shampoo is ok for them to eat, just incase they drink the water. P.S dont make the water to deep or they could drown themselves.

The DE should get rid of them. I wouldn't use shampoo on the chicks for a multitude of reasons.

I've never heard of chickens getting fleas. Guess they can get on anything.

Dawn dish soap stuns fleas and then you can rinse them off down the drain. We had some abandoned newborn kittens my dd found and they were just covered in fleas. That is how I found out about the dawn dish soap because they were too young to use the flea products on them.
