My Chick's names...

So I've had my babies now for about a week so it's time to name them. I'm a bit of a history geek so I'm calling my coop "Egglympus" and giving all the girls Roman/Greek goddesses names based on their personalities (I said I was a geek! lol)

So I would like to introduce you to:

Juno - Roman Queen of the Gods (As the name indicates...she's the boss!!) OE

Athena - Greek Goddess of wisdom, warfare, battle strategy (she is head strong and get's into fights with Juno and Minerva) EE

Minerva - Roma Goddess of wisdom, crafts, and war (so technically speaking Minerva and Athena are the same gods....but these tow birds fight so much...I just had to) RIR

Thalia - Muse of comedy (Ok she's tech not a god, but this chick is so funny...and loud! lol) EE

Diana - Roman Goddess of the Moon and of the Hunt (she's just nosy!!!!) EE

Pandora - Jupiter's kid (I like to think myself as a King....so since Pandora is Jupiter's kid and this chick is my Fav...Pandora seems to fit. Since day 1 she has let me handle her) RIR

Venus - Roman Goddess of love and beauty (come on, look at her....she is just stunning!) Autralorp

Love it! Athena is one of the names we're considering for our chicks, too, but it didn't get many votes in the name poll.

Have you been to the Getty Villa in Los Angeles? Filled with gods and goddesses...and when we were there we saw this great little statue of a woman feeding chicks, c 500 BC. The more things change, the more they stay the same...
