This is my first attempt to post a picture. These are my chicks. I bought a dozen of various breeds and I do not know what they are.
Very cute! They look nice and healthy. You might want to get some pine shavings for their bedding.....
Thank you. I have them outside now. They are about 45 days old. I was hoping to let them roam free in my backyard, but we have a neighbor dog that jumps my fence. I am trying to finish the Chicken Coop for them. 10'X14'. Wish I could win the contest tomorrow!
Tonight is their first night in the big coop. I sat with them until after dark and helped them get on the roost. They were a little confused not having the wire cage to sleep in, but all were asleep when I left. I hope I can sleep without worry about their safety. 5 - White Leghorns 4- Buff Orpintons 3- Rhodes Island Reds:
The first night is the roughest. I know I checked on ours at least half a dozen times to be sure everything was ok! How were they this morning?
They did great overnight. Chasing a June Bug when I checked on them this morning. One was still on her roost. She had moved up to a high level. They have room to exercise and run around. Wish I could let them free in my yard, but I have a neighbor dog that jumps the fence...
