VS. anything that is not her coop mate Sally... So my sweet luna, my Black Cochin bantam, Was my second chicken I got and that was last year, her and my NH red Sally who I got the year before that have been like 2 peas in a pod.
Luna has alwayssss been the sweetest thing.
with that being said, I got 4 ducks and 4 chickens this year (2 of the chicks are actually hers I incubated them for the experience)
Izzy my so gentle little Polish lady (2 months) managed to get into Luna and Sally's coop (the the ducks and 2 of the chickens are not in the same coop as my 2 older ones but they have their pens right up against each other so they can get to know each other, and my littlest ones are still inside with me)
Well luna my cochin seen Izzy in there and just started pecking the crud out of her. when I introduced my chickens the year before there was some pecking but nothing as bad as what luna is doing.
for weeks they have got to see each other and get close (chicken wire in between) but when any of the new ones get near her she yells at them..
I am worried she is never going to warm up to them. I got Izzy and I held her for a bit and then a few minutes later when i put her down
She is Hazel cuddled and slept, my little heart was sad for her.
(can you tell all my kids are grown and now my kids are chickens? LOL)
Anyone else go through this and finally they all got along? Izzy and Hazel just want to be everyone's friend
