Here is a my confusion some articles I read some said chickens need something to wrap their feet around to be able to lock their feet so they don't fall over and some said they can sleep flat foot sorry for my confusion

They're very versatile, they can sleep on a roost or on the floor, on round roosts or flat ones. That's why you'll see differing advice.

Too small, can you return them?
Go with at least a 2" diameter
