My coop build so far.

Ventilation is often overlooked when building a coop, but it is essential for a healthy flock. Ammonia from their poo builds up overnight. Without enough ventilation to remove the ammonia, chickens can get very sick. Very few people have regretted putting in too much ventilation.

That is a nice coop. I have the same dilemma about ventilation. I always wonder if I have enough. But I live north east so I wonder in the winter if I put to much it might be a problem in the winter

I plan to add some extra vents that can be opened or closed depending on weather.

We got the door finished just needs the latches. And ramp! Have a gap ontop to close and more finishing touches. Let the girls check it out but they just hung out at the top perhaps tomorrow.

Very nice! I added wood strips over the hardware cloth and staples, and screwed the strips to the frame. I also added 2"x4" woven wire fencing around the bottom. It's total paranoia on my part! Mary It's not stained yet, so pretty ugly, but the structure shows.
