My coop building project with covered run

I just want to show off the coop we're building and the fancy covered run (which is way more work that I thought it'd be!)

This first photo is what we started with.

This is how far we've gotten on the run

And this is the color I chose! I've always wanted a classic red barn. And RED she is!

We ordered the metal for the roof yesterday so it'll be here in 2 weeks. We still need to put on the trim and paint it, put on the hardware cloth and roof. We need to make the doors and paint them. And then do everything inside!

We are in Kansas and will be traveling to Iowa to the Murray McMurray Hatchery in October to pick up our chicks.

My husband and I are getting so burnt out on building this coop. But it'll be incredibly satisfying when it's complete. I am beyond blessed to have a husband that is working so hard to make this dream a reality for me. I've waited many years for this!!

Oh, wow! It's like a tiny house!

Love the red. And yes, chicken project burnout is real. Especially after you get them and realize all the tweaks you need to make! Totally worth it though. You must be so excited to get your October babies.
