Lots of time today spent "figuring" and "pondering" on how best to reinforce the tubular metal frame so it will carry snow.

You could raise one end of the thing a few inches. This would tip the roof and encourage the snow to slide off. Otherwise, you could create second, independent, roof over the first. This second roof could be tipped by you and a friend after a snow to get some of the snow off, then use a snow rake to take off the rest. They make rakes specifically for raking snow off the roof.

Another thought. After the snow, for into the run and with a broom or rake, push up on the roof tarp to encourage the snow to move off.

Where we live, everybody has 2 snow rakes. (I have three) We know snow pretty well up here

Roofing and mesh was the theme for the day. We have decided the run needs a 22 foot long sky light so the birds can get a tan.

Today on the chicken coop build, the theme was high winds, sleet, snow and red, wind burned faces. But the roof of the run is finished including the skylight.

I woke to snow, cold (9F) and wind and morning inspectors

So I drove into town and bought cedar to trim the run and some paint that matches the metal roofing and painted it in my shop.

The sun came out and melted the snow and the evening inspectors arrived.
