buckhannon,wv
well after moving to our new house our original flock lived in a plastic storage shed,it served its purpose well. but as you all know,6 chickens is not enough!!! of course i put the wagon before the horse and bought day old chicks and then thought about where to put them!! i had an idea,my mom had an old shed just sitting in her yard,i just had to get it the 50 or so miles to my house. ran an add,had people telling me they could move it for 300-400 bucks, yikes!! so i ran the add again, saying we could pay $150,and got it moved the next weekend!!! so here it is,still needs some work on the run,but i need to get it up,fast and cheap LOL. found almost every thing i needed on freecycle. after the $150,to get the building moved,$100 for fence and post,i spent $8 on various hardware!! i really like the door,it was an old screen door with removable glass,so we removed the glass and add (free!) hardwire cloth.the glass can still be put back in for winter!!

Wow! So basically you'll have a coop, run included for about $250. That's GREAT!!!

That was so lucky to get a nice shed like that for next to nothing. You know, EE's weren't originally on my list of breeds that I wanted. But the more I see, read, and hear about them, the more I want one!!

they are not as friendly as i would like, kinda easily spooked, but that could be because of the kids,or not handling them as much when they where small. they are friendly enough that if i need to pick them up,i can, they just might not like it LOL. but when we got that first greenish blue egg this week,it was like majic!!!

mom,

Nice set up.

I see your girls are "painting" the wall behind the roost.

Mine where doing the same thing, until I moved the roost farther away from the wall.
