well after moving to our new house our original flock lived in a plastic storage shed,it served its purpose well. but as you all know,6 chickens is not enough!!! of course i put the wagon before the horse and bought day old chicks and then thought about where to put them!! i had an idea,my mom had an old shed just sitting in her yard,i just had to get it the 50 or so miles to my house. ran an add,had people telling me they could move it for 300-400 bucks, yikes!! so i ran the add again, saying we could pay $150,and got it moved the next weekend!!! so here it is,still needs some work on the run,but i need to get it up,fast and cheap LOL. found almost every thing i needed on freecycle. after the $150,to get the building moved,$100 for fence and post,i spent $8 on various hardware!! i really like the door,it was an old screen door with removable glass,so we removed the glass and add (free!) hardwire cloth.the glass can still be put back in for winter!!
wheres the treats!!!
i quess i should have taken the pic, before all the poo!! i think these could have been farther from the wall but they work!
super fancy nest boxes!! (found in junk left in yard by previous owners!!)
next spring i plan on adding flowers to the front and calling this unpainted look "rustic". after painting my entire house i just cannot paint anymore!!
and i may be baised, but here are some of the prettiest ee ive ever seen!! just got my first egg this week!!
