I'm very excited! DH & his friend are building the coop & run this weekend. The coop is DH's own design & will be elevated & 4' x 8'. The run will surround the coop & will be 12' x 16'. I'll update with pics during progress.
Here's the catch-- I already know this coop will not be big enough when I want more girls next year... I already persuaded DH to double the size from his original plan (he's very skeptical that chickens actually "need" that much space!
), so he's not hearing it right now. It will be a year of gentle persuasion & suggestion that we may need to add on next spring!
Anyway, cannot wait to put my girls out in the run to scratch & run in the sunshine. They are getting so bored int he brooder!
