My coop is going to end up in a divorce!

Ok, so he doesn't share my "reuse it" gene because he is a professional contractor who says that if you don't build it out of solid material it will fall apart and he'll have to rebuild it again later. $600 later I'm getting an earfull of "stuff"!!! I'm trying to stay calm and zen like but I just want to scream - If you would've looked at the pics I tried to show you for what others have done it wouldn't have cost this much, but the chicks in the living room are squalking like seagulls and I don't want to try to out scream them!!! Thanks for listening, I just needed to rant!

we have all been there. last week was the "turkey eggs what turkey eggs, why the heck does this say turkey eggs, " umm discussion
he never said i couldn't bring home turkey eggs it just never crossed his mind I would do it. you would have thought I had brought home a chippendale dancer to live with us

Yeap, my DH is the same. No recycled materials and the way he is building the coop it can withstand a tornado or air raid

I just wanted to have a simple 8x8 coop that he can build in a weekend, now I am getting a 8x12 deluxe thing with shed dormers matching the house and the exact siding and trim like our house. Oh yes, did I mention that it will take at least 5 weekends to finish

Mine does not quite match the house (it's a log cabin), but I did insist that we put the same roof on the coop as we did the house and barn, so that it is all tied in together <G>!!

You'll appreciate it six months from now when you drive onto your property and go "ooooooh - look at how nice that all goes together!!!"

Gee, I'm so glad my hubby and I both like to recycle!

We both recycle and mine can barely hammer 2 boards together so I build my own coops. If I don't like the way a coop or run turns out I have to blame myself. Below is my Japanese teahouse coop for his Japanese bantams.
