I wanna build more!! Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow. I just have to keep reminding myself that I can start again tomorrow!!! I just hope the feed store hasn't sold out of the chickens I want.
Alright!! The ties are cut! I'm set to get started again in the morning! PSA, if you are going to cut railroad ties...rent a chain saw! While it is possible to cut them with a circular saw and a sawzall, I can't recommend it.
Also, didja know that you can pick up less than perfect lumber at your local lumber yard for a song? I got 2 treated 16ft 2x4s for a dollar. Last week I got 2 8ft 2x4s and a 10ft 1x4 for 1.50. It takes patience to get what you want, but it's worth it!
My chicks arrive on the 3rd, so I better get my arse in gear and get building!
When I set up my raised garden I'll be sure to keep that in mind. Fortunately I only needed two cuts so the skill saw and the saws all did the job. Inefficiently, but done lol

You could always frame your wall with the hole then just cover it with siding for now. That way, if you get him to change his mind, it's a simple matter of cutting a hole in your siding and popping them in, rather than having to restructure your wall (and giving him another reason to say no!)

LOL, that's kinda the plan. I'm building the nest boxes as basically a divided shelf and I've got an external egg door. If I ever feel up to convincing Mr that the coop isn't going to fall down and crush the chickens because I
I'll just remove the shelf and nail the external nail box to the "hole" that I'll get when I take the door off.
More progress today. I dragged and wheeled the ties over to the right spot this morning and nailed them together. I'll be getting bigger nails later, but it will hold together well enough for now. Then I nailed down some pressure treated lumber (that I got for a song at the lumber yard because it was ugly) to the top for the plate. Mr helped me lift the coop onto the plate, then helped me put the front of the run up and he took over putting the roof on.
I don't have any in-between pics because we were on a roll! This is where we stopped for lunch.
