My chickens moved in this week (after spending nights in a guinea pig cage in my living room and days outside) and the transition has gone well for them (although I'm discovering the need for more weatherproofing to keep rain out, and other modifications, etc) - but here it is. There is a 3'x5'x4' tall enclosure that is backed up to it but I took these pictures before then. After the summer of mostly free-ranging around my back yard - that enclusure seems way way to small for 4 chickens to spend much time in. That picture with the guinea pig cage is from the first night when they seemed freaked out so I put their familiar sleeping spot inside the coop to help them feel better.

Very, very nice, dftkarin!

Good design, chalked seams, well-painted . . .

You should be proud of yourself. You did your research, stuck with it and got it built!

Thank you for all the kind words. For the first few days they kept coming up to my back door at dusk - the old bedtime routine when they were sleeping inside - but starting yesterday they went into the coop on their own without being lured with treats or carried and placed in it! Yippee! I love these sweet chickens....
