Last June we got our second batch of meat chickens. Well, a few of them quickly became our favorites and now I still have 5 of them as pets. I know I know don't name the food! They do not have names but they have been around for over a year now and they are my favorite chickens. I let them free range all day everyday. I really did not expect them to live this long but I sure do love them!! One of them is losing its feathers. You can see it in the picture. Do you think it is going into a molt??

I am so afraid this is going to happen to me with some of the Cornish Crosses or
Freedom Rangers(Red Bros) we are getting next week.

Those chickens of your's look very healthy and happy. I'm impressed you were
able to keep so many alive for so long.

They are very happy and as far as I can tell very happy!! They come running to the deck the minute anyone even opens the door!!

My DH even talks and pets them. It is very funny how you can become so attached to some and then eat all their brothers and sisters!!
