my 3 chicks are now 51/2 weeks old, flying all over the place, fully feathered and in their run all day. They’ve had no heat since 4 weeks. It’s amazing Weather and warmer out than in so we decided to make the transition . They’ve been hanging around in their coop and up and down the ramp all the time. I put a few meal worms in and they ran right in. Dropped the door. All hell broke loose. I know they carried on like that when we turned the lights off at night at first. But my this feels hard. Is it normal for them to cry the first night?

That’s OK.
I had three 4wk old BCMs and three 1wk old EEs in the brooder. Last night I moved the BCMs to the big coop with the bigger pullets that are laying now. The BCMs started crying, the EEs started crying and the laying pullets didn’t know what the hell was going on. All is fine this morning though.

My 1 week old BCMs carried in exactly the same as they are now in the big brooder box where they happily played all day, till we turned of the light. Oh my. Did it go okay introducing 4 week olds to the bigger ones as obviously that's my next step! But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I know to put the baby's exercise pen in the run with the bigger ones, they're still so sweet and fluffy, how does all this happen in 4 weeks. It's amazing
