My dad has cute anemia/He passed away

Why me though? :C
My mom confirmed that she is getting a lawyer to protect me. Hopefully this gets straightened out. I also fear for my animals, if this crazy evil person went after a cat then he or she could very well go after my own birds or my dogs. People who hurt animals are a danger to people also, so who knows who could be in danger. If those twisted cops think it was me then that's their issue, but I am not leaving this house and sent to jail or juvie for a crime I did not commit. They can throw all the wild accusations all they want but it won't change the truth.

Hang in there, you

You didn't do anything to that cat so there won't be any evidence linking you to it. And without evidence or a confession they can't throw you in jail. It's good that you have a lawyer to assist you. He/she will tell you what to do. So try not to get too worked up about it. It'll blow over.
I think it's just lousy of the neighbour to accuse you, considering the circumstances.

According to the cop the evidence is a shovel in the chicken run that she believes I used to take off the head of the cat. I haven't used that shovel ever since I buried Sugar but she doesn't believe me, ofcourse not. We're apparently using the same kind of trash bag that the cat was found in and the cop says that makes her very suspicious. Yeah, I'd be suspicious too of a popular type of trash bag you can buy at Costco. /sarcasm
To be honest the only thing I'm worried about is animal control coming over next week sometime. Here they're very.. I don't know the word but someone else on our street got all her chickens confiscated when someone made one complaint about a rooster. She had like 8 chickens, old english game bantams, and that was a while ago. She has chickens again now and my mom gave her a cochin 2 years ago. We have alot of building material laying around our property, perhaps those animal control officers will think it's an unsafe environment or something like that, they always get you for something pretty lame. Mom said we'll start building when she's done with treatments. We have a whole lot of building on our agenda.. :) We want to convert the whole backyard into one big chicken/duck/turkey area while fencing off the patio for our own use and mom wants to turn the current coop/run into more garden but I want it to be used for the bantams so we're still discussing it. I know they're gonna say something about the ducks though, probably on the water, then I have to educate them about ducks and their messy habits.
Right now I can't place any of my trust with this cop investigating the situation. I've never really been able to trust the police here, something makes me think that they're two-faced most of the time. I don't like two-faced people. Right now I really feel like she's telling us one thing and telling the neighbors something else.
One thing that the cop should have considered is putting together how I could have caught the cat and took it's head off with a shovel. Cats are fast and agile, I don't have the speed or the agility to catch one and be able to take off the head with a shovel, a dull shovel of all things. Even if I were somehow blessed with TMNT skills why would I chase after a cat? The things she comes up with astounds me.

I'm pretty sure every one in your neighbourhood owns a shovel. We own at least 4. That's NOT proof. Unless it's covered in blood and cat hairs. (And by the way, we slaughter animals and we took care of a few cat size predators over the years. You'll have great difficulty taking a creature's head off with a blunt shovel. Fur and bones are tough). Tell her to take the shovel and the cat to a proper forensics lab and run some tests. And while you're at it, tell her to take any fingerprints off the bag and compare them with yours. Oh, if she tells you you washed the blood off, tell her the forensics lab can find traces of blood on objects that got cleaned by chemicals like bleach. So if there was blood on it, they'll find it. And give her your bin bags and tell her to hand that in at the lab as well, so they can check if it's from the same batch.
Before animal control come round make sure you sort out your yard and check there isn't anything they can hold against you. I don't think they can confiscate your animals just because your neighbour's cat got killed and they can't prove it's you. Make sure you read what you can about the local laws by you, so you know your rights and can stand your ground. And consult your lawyer before you talk to them and ask him/her to assist you. You have the right.
Good luck and stay strong

None of the cops thinking makes sense. First of all, it would be very hard to kill and dismember a cat that way with a shovel. Also, if the person who did it had a shovel, why would they use a plastic bag instead of just using the shovel to dig a hole? The cop is just looking for the easiest, quickest solution to avoid doing real work.

Just a word of caution - I don't think it's a good idea for you to "tell" the cop anything. I don't care that she is being an idiot, she's an adult, you are a kid, you won't help your case by coming off as a smart-mouth. It sounds to me like the officer is trying her hand at "profiling" and really stinks at it (your father died recently, therefore you are acting out, or some such crap). She probably knows that her "evidence" is shaky, and is hoping that her accusations will stampede you into saying something that will be useful in proving her case.

Now, why your neighbor is telling lies about you, I cannot say. I hope this isn't covert racism, or age-ism, or some other unreasoning prejudice, though it might be easier to deal with if it were that rather than something more personal. And did the neighbor tell you that he said this, or was it the cop? She may be fabricating a story to see if she can get you to "cough up the real one" - something that's straight out of all those TV crime dramas.

I REALLY REALLY hope they find who did that to the poor cat..
That's okay..karmas a witch...that person will get theirs in the end..

Me too redhen, me too.
There was an animal control officer walking around our property this morning and when my mom woke me up about it and I looked out the window I didn't see the officer. Why walk around the property though? Well.. My mom did say that we're gonna put up "no trespassing" signs on our fence. I would actually really like a sign that says "DO NOT FEED OR TOUCH ANIMALS" for our grow-out pen. Yesterday there were a whole bunch of little kids looking at my broilers, young layers, and young turkeys. I went out there to see what they wanted and they went off in a hurry with their bikes and scooters. I don't mind them staring but I don't want them touching, feeding, or too close because of biosecurity. Ugh, that animal control officer is going to want to look in my backyard.. Who knows what she could be carrying on her shoes! I just won't let him or her in the pens I guess.
We have a critter trap in our duck enclosure, will the officer say something about that? It was the second smallest one at the hardware store and perfect sized for critters like squirrels and what not. The neighbors who blamed me have never talked to me or have said hello to me, ever since they moved here they've only talked to my mom. By the way, my mom told the cop yesterday to look at the body of the cat to see how it died. I think the neighbors buried it though already, not sure since they never talk to me and I guess they hate me.

Good news! Thanks to the helpful people on EAFB that cop won't harass me or my mom anymore! Some people on the base are going to help us set up security cameras for our home too. My mom will pay half and the base will pay the other half. They're going to put cameras both outside and inside, including where the birds are. My chickens get extra protection!

As for the killer of the cat.. Perhaps North Edwards needs a neighborhood watch system. I feel like my mom and I are in danger.. I am very grateful that we are getting a security camera system.
