My darkling Beatles look so weird.

Oh alright ☹️ they're so much aswell LMAO tysm
Good luck!! Mealworms can be surprisingly finicky and hard to care for! That's why I prefer dubia roaches, they're a lot easier to keep, and more nutritious!

I don't know if dubias are available or legal in Australia (I believe they're legal, but maybe hard to get?) but wood roaches (woodies) are common feeders in Aussie! Maybe look into those, I think they have similar nutrients to dubias. And they don't infest homes if they manage to escape!

humidity seems to be the issue. try and feed more and that should honestly be all that is needed. if the humidity is right as is, just feed those off and let the healthy ones live

This. Also, pupae are easy to damage. A prod from your finger or bite from another mealworm or beetle can be enough to cause deformation. In some setups it isn't necessary to separate by life stage, but in some cases you might have to. Especially if they aren't getting enough fluids. They might try to get fluids from the defenseless pupae.

Hehe! I think they also might be too big for my chickens (as one has a crossed beak) but thanks! I'll keep an eye out!!! :)
