My DD has Scarlet Fever!

Aww thanks ya'll. DD seems to be alternately feeling better/worse. I'm sure she'll be fine. However, I'm beginning to wonder if I am getting it...

Texas I cannot believe they didn't treat your son for strep. Strep is one of the things you don't mess with in children because of the possibility of rheumatic fever (which generally shows up 3 weeks or so after an initial untreated strep case). Much like not giving aspirin to children under 12 because of the possibility of Reyes syndrome. So glad you both are ok!

My mother had rhuematic fever when she was 17, it was a 3 week hospital stay for her. She said it hurt to move. Good thing you caught it early a bad case of scarlet fever could cause blindness down the road.
