I've had this EEer, that always lays her egg on the floor. She used to make a nice little nest under the nest boxes and lay, but then she got lazy and just laid any old place.
Well, DH cured her. I had a class I had to be to early in the morning, so DH had to collect the eggs. Of course, I've told him she lays on the floor, but being the typical DH, he didn't listen to me.
He walks into the coop, all the chickens looking on, and CRUSH!! he steps on the egg. All the chicken start pecking at his foot, he can't figure out why, and there under his foot was a crushed egg. I was really sad, but on the bright side, she's not laid on the floor since and that was 2 weeks ago.
I don't know that I recommend this as a cure, but it worked for us.
