My Dog Brought Home a Duck....help!

I don't think it's an affectionate thing. I think the duck is obsessed with the dog in a bad way, like you thought.
The only time my ducks peck and pull at eachother is to get them out of the way or in an agressive manner.
I would be careful, the way the duck is bothering your dog, your dog is likely to snap at some point and kill that duck.
Pen it up or find a new home for it.

I wouldn't worry to much about the duck hurting the dog. My ducks chase my dog and play with them. when the dogs finally have enough they bite the duck on the beak ( not hard) and the duck quites. As far as food throw out some corn or scratch feed they love it. Most of what my ducks eat comes out of the grass and little bugs they find. They don't eat much of there food on days they free range

I agree the duck looks like it's going after the dog in an aggressive manner & I too would pen it up. I can't believe he's tolerated it at all & again he deserves a soup bone.

It's not a rouen. It looks more like a khaki campbell or khaki mix. And it is a drake.

I'm with you now..I'm putting the duck in the chicken pen while they are out and about to give Daisy a break until I figure out what to do with it. I kept hoping the duck would finally get bored with the whole plucking thing and stop...but it's really focused.

It is a pretty duck and so friendly, I don't want anything to happen to it. I am going to take it down to the lake when I get a break here and see if it wants to go back to wherever it came from. If not, I guess we have a duck, too!

I'm wondering if someone raised that duck with a dog and no other ducks. So he thinks he's a dog and when he matured and tried mating with the orginal owners dog and being so obnoxious, the owner drove it out to "the sticks" to dump it.
