I agree with everyone who said it looks like the drake is probably imprinted on dogs and trying to mate with Daisy. He's too old to be looking for a mom, and it's normal for drakes to give love bites to females as part of the mating ritual, and to get them "into position." He's probably lonely if he's still penned by himself, but if he's imprinted on dogs, then he might not be interested even if you get him some species-appropriate girlfriends. I know that has happened with human-imprinted drakes. The ducky girls didn't interest them at all, because as far as they were concerned, they were human boys!

Wow, that is wierd! Good luck to you and your dog and duck! Poor guy... Keep him inside and keep the duck in a separate area so that your dog has a rest.

ducks super cute. one of my ducks annoys the crap out of my two dogs also. pecks thier face and butt, everywhere. my dogs usually move though, to a deck or somewhere the duck cant go...
