she is very unsteady and can not sit on her roost. My Golden chased one of my RIR and she was gone the night. When I got home from work yesterday she was under a bush but went into the coop as soon as I opened it for her. She looked as though her legs were sprawled out ( she is over a year old) I found her in a nesting box that I keep on the ground. I tried to put her on the roost but she fell off, as if she had no balance. i tried to give her water that she did not want so I went to bed and hope for the best. I got up this moring and she is perky and alert but did not want to or offer to get out of the box. I left her with water that she can reach and some scratch figuring the corn would give her some energy.

Anyone have any ideas...other then keeoing the Golden away...she just likes the chase.

If you are going to let the chicken and dog together expect this to happen allot. Unless the chicken can out smart the dog. My dogs don't mess with the chicks unless they run from them- then the chase is on. Eventually the dog will corner the chick and kill it so you need to find a way to keep them seperate

She usually does not bother then at all but the chicken must have ran from her.

Good luck with #2
