i have just brought 2 chicken and thought my dog would be OK as he has been brought up with cats and always been a big softy by my he decided to chased the new chickens with aggression the first chance he got. Whats the best way of changing this behavior as we want to keep them free rainge and not have to worry about the dog going out on his own. any advice is welcome thanks

I stopped my dog from doing this by taking him with me every day to tend to them (on a lead obvcourse) and i would tie him up and let him watch me do my things. I would do this every day for a few days, then i would keep him on the lead and let him walk around with me whilst i did everything and after a couple of days of that, i let him off when i went and he was fine. He attempted to chase them one so i just shouted his name and he stopped and behaved.

Just be very careful. I have three dogs, two are fine with my chickens the third I thought was fine. He never even bothered to look at them for over a week. Then one day, in a time span of about two hours, he killed 7. We have since sectioned off the yard for them and instead of having 3 acres, my girls only have 1/4 acre. I miss the seven that he killed. The other 8 are fine. He killed Wintergreen, Snowy, Delilah, Princess, Lady, Lemon and Gator Girl. He didn't even want to eat them, he just wanted to kill them. It reminds me of people in the last century shooting buffalo from the train. Just stupid. Anyway, learned my lesson. Just be careful.
